Back to the roots: Lecture at Università degli Studi di Genova, DaD on Silicon Valley Design stories

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

It has been a honor coming back on December 19, 2019, at University of Genova, where I spent years of my undergraduate and postgraduate studies and talk about my experience at Stanford University, California.

Talking with designers and innovators of Silicon Valley, empowered me to understand “How Design got a seat at the table (of major companies)”.

The talk was framed around examples, case studies and outcomes of interviews with David Kelley, founder of IDEO, Larry Leifer, founder of the Center for Design Research at Stanford University, Barry Katz, Professor at Stanford University, IDEO Fellow and author of Make it new, Donald Norman, Director of the Design Lab at UCSD and many other thought leaders that helped designers to have a seat at the table in multinational businesses.

PhD researchers and professors joined the chat with inspiring questions and inputs for future developments of the academic and industrial ecosystems.
